The coronavirus pandemic has made many tourist hot spots just a shell of what they used to be. In Las Vegas, some casinos are temporarily closing their hotels due to slower than usual visitation, restaurants are at restricted capacity and nightclubs are basically non-existent. (See our guide to what’s open in Vegas.) While some visitors continue to drive to Las Vegas from nearby states, almost as many are choosing not to fly.
However, there are some other casinos that are conducting business as usual – the best they can, at least. Even businesses that haven’t opened yet are operating differently. Let’s take a look at new developments and news in Las Vegas that will affect visits today and tomorrow.

Caesars recently introduced a new sports betting app only for Nevada. While 2020 has slowed a lot of businesses down, Caesars is moving forward full-throttle.
Earlier this year, Caesars Entertainment completed a merger with Eldorado Resorts. The combined company is now simply known as “Caesars.”
Shortly after that deal was completed, Caesars purchased the remainder of sportsbook operator William Hill that wasn’t already owned by Eldorado/Caesars.
William Hill now operates Caesars sportsbooks in Nevada and around the country and part of the deal was that William Hill will create a new mobile sports betting app for Caesars. Players can now download the Caesars Sports Nevada app to place sports wagers.
The app is almost a replica of the William Hill Nevada app. The odds and software are the same but there’s one major addition. The Caesars sports app automatically gives players Caesars Rewards credits. Players earn 1 Tier and Reward credit for every $10 wagered.
The connection to a loyalty club with 50 casinos and a list of non-gaming partners can’t be overlooked. No other Nevada sportsbook connects players with rewards at so many other casinos and other businesses.
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has pushed back its opening date again. The hotel and its Mohegan SunCasino were most recently scheduled to open on January 15, 2021. The new opening date of the hotel and casino being built using the bones of the Hard Rock will be announced in the future.
It’s not much of a surprise that Virgin is pushing back its opening date. Business is slow in Las Vegas and there’s no end in sight. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, visitation to Las Vegas is down 54.2% from last year as of October.
Construction on the property is on schedule to be complete in time for the January opening, even though that date isn’t happening. For example, the sportsbook renovation is already about 90% complete. However, Virgin says it will hold back its opening date due to “current conditions in the market as it pertains to the pandemic.”
Virgin is located just off the Vegas Strip and expects to host many guests visiting Las Vegas for entertainment or conventions. Until either or both reopen, there’s potentially a void of guests.
It’s tough going for casino-hotels that are already open. It would be difficult for new hotel and casino brands to open and generate the type of revenue or excitement when so few people are visiting Las Vegas.
Keep your eyes peeled as there should be more information in the new year. Coronavirus vaccines should allow for conventions and entertainment to return to Las Vegas.
Cirque du Soliel recently emerged from bankruptcy protection and was recently sold. The company also announced that former MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren will be co-chairman of the Board of Directors. Additionally, current MGM President of Entertainment and Sports George Kliavkoff is also a member of the board.
Even though the company recently closed Zumanity at New York-New York after a 17-year run, Cirque du Soliel will remain in Las Vegas. The company doesn’t plan on closing any more shows in Las Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Cirque du Soleil shows should relaunch in Las Vegas in late 2021 and 2022.
It’s even possible Las Vegas will see even more Cirque du Soliel shows in the future. The company could bring new shows to Las Vegas. Older Cirque theaters inside the New York-New York and Luxor hotel-casinos are currently without a show.
Elon Musk’s Boring Company is building a new underground transportation system in Las Vegas using Tesla cars instead of trains or trams. The initial plan was for the system to connect the expanded Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Construction on this should be finished by the end of the year.
The Boring Company is already looking to expand the new transportation system. Earlier this year Resorts World Las Vegas (opening next summer) received approval for a passenger station that will connect to LVCC. More recently, Boring received approval to extend its system to the Encore Tower at Wynn Las Vegas.
As previously reported, The Boring Company is hoping to expand the system throughout Las Vegas. There should be more information about further expansion in the new year as the company just received approval to move forward.
The Plaza in downtown Las Vegas recently announced major redevelopment and expansion plans that will begin next year. The casino, located just outside of the Fremont Street Experience, will redevelop the Greyhound bus station next to the casino. It will also partner with the city to create a bridge and walkway that will connect to Symphony Park.
The Greyhound bus terminal next to the casino-hotel will be a new retail project. The Plaza is currently having discussions with various developers on possible uses for the space. Nothing will happen right away. The property is considering dining, entertainment and retail options that will make will make the area more desirable for visitors.
Additionally, the Plaza is working with the City of Las Vegas to build a four-block pedestrian pathway. When complete it will connect the Plaza with a new elevated bridge to be built by the city over the Union Pacific railroad tracks to the new residential and commercial development in Symphony Park.
The bridge will encourage locals to visit the casino and Fremont Street Experience. It will also make it easier for downtown Las Vegas visitors to access The Smith Center for Performing Arts for concerts and plays.
This announcement comes just after Circa Resort and Casinoopened across the street from the Plaza.
The global gaming and betting giant Caesars now offers a sportsbook. More importantly, it’s delivering sports betting to Pennsylvania.
Run in conjunction with Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack, Caesars Sports brings a world of betting opportunities to you. There is a combination of generous odds, slick software and a wealth of extras all wrapped into its reputable brand. The Caesars online sportsbook has something for everyone.
At the top, Caesars’ welcome bonus provides the proverbial golden hello to all new customers. Worth up to $300, this deal gives you more bang for your buck when you place your first sports bet. From there, a fantastic loyalty scheme awaits packed with comps that work in tandem with impressive on-site betting features.
That all sounds pretty good, right? Well, in our assessment, it is. However, we can’t just say that without backing it up. To give you some perspective on why the Caesars sportsbook is a hot tip, we’ve broken it down to the basics.
In this Caesars Sports PA review, we’ll show you where this operator excels and the ways it caters to all. If you’re ready, march with us like a Roman army into the world of Caesars sports betting.
We love Caesars sportsbook welcome bonus for two reasons: value and affordability.
There are plenty of online sports betting bonuses out there that look great. Significant cash amounts are always attention-grabbing and pique the interest of newbies. However, the real value of an offer lies in its wagering conditions. Promising customers a world of riches is great, but only if they stand a realistic chance of getting it.
For us, the Caesars online welcome bonus strikes the perfect balance between potential and accessibility. You’ll receive a generous deposit bonus when you sign up using our Caesars sportsbook sign-up link and exclusive bonus code. From there, you can make your first deposit ($10 or more) and receive a 100% matched bet that’s worth up to $300.
Online Sportsbook | Caesars Sportsbook |
---|---|
Bonus Code | BETFREE10 |
Free Bet | $10 |
Deposit Bonus | 100% up to $300 |
Last Verified | March 2021 |
To activate this offer, you’ll need to use the Caesars sportsbook bonus code (yet to be announced). When you’ve done that, Caesars will credit a bonus bet to your account. Your initial bet will be matched, assuming you meet the following wagering conditions.
In this instance, the minimum bet is $10 and the odds have to be -200 or longer. If you meet those requirements, Caesars will match your stake. If you win, any profits from the bonus portion of the wager are yours to keep. In essence, you’re doubling your potential with this welcome bonus.
As a customer, you’re always going to make an opening bet. Whether this makes you money will depend on your picking skills. Irrespective of that, you can double your potential returns as a new customer.
In addition to the Caesars sportsbook welcome bonus and loyalty scheme (see below), seasonal promotions abound.
In general, there will be new deals weekly and monthly. The Caesars team often bases promotions on specific themes or events. For example, when it’s Super Bowl time, you may find offers that give you free bets on the game or enhanced odds on a certain team.
Within these themes, Caesars follows a fairly traditional pattern when it comes to promos. Free bets are a standard, as are reload bonuses and enhanced odds/payout deals. You should also keep an eye out for challenges and competitions where the top performers win a share of significant prize pools.
Does Caesars Sports have a loyalty scheme? Forgive us if we have a little chuckle at that. If you know anything about Caesars Entertainment, you’ll see that loyalty rewards are part of its DNA.
Throughout its evolution from casino operator to poker proprietor and sports betting behemoth, this operator has valued a customer’s activity at every turn. For you, this means its Pennsylvania online sportsbook is connected to the Caesars Rewards program. This trademarked loyalty scheme has been around for years and is available anywhere Caesars has a property.
In practice, this means you can create a loyalty account and earn comp points online, across live venues in the US and, if you travel, in countries such as the UK. Caesars Rewards is one of the most comprehensive and easily accessible schemes in the industry. Because it forms such as large network, you’ll always have a way to pick up points and, in turn, bonuses.
In practical terms, you’ll earn one tier credit and one online credit for every $10 you bet on sports. The overarching aim is to move up the loyalty ladder:
The higher you climb, the more comps you can unlock. In unison with this overarching aim, your bets will also earn you reward points. You can use these as currency. As well as trading points for room discounts, gifts, drinks, food and more, there will be times when you can use them to get online bonuses.
Finally, you can also use your online reward points to get cash. If you trade in 1,000 points, Caesars will give you $10 cash. That’s cash, not bonus cash. By providing you real money in exchange for points, Caesars Sports is removing any post-collection wagering conditions. You can spend or withdraw your credits how you want and when you want.
Opening a new account at Caesars is easy. As long as you’re 21 years or older and located within Pennsylvania, you can become a customer.
To join the action and start your sports betting adventure, follow these simple steps:
Caesars Sports offers several sports bet types. From singles and multi-way bets to parlays, there are plenty of sports betting options. Add to this win, place, props, exacta and trifecta bets, and the team at Caesars HQ has left no stone unturned.
Caesars Sports is brimming with sports betting options. However, before we touch on those, let’s run through the available markets.
When you compare what Caesars to some betting sites, the list of sports is slightly smaller. However, that doesn’t mean you’re going to be searching for odds and offers.
The important point to remember is that the Caesars sportsbook is growing. The list of sports will continue to increase and the number of daily odds on offer expand, as well. Having said that, there’s still a solid selection of markets from which to choose.
When you download the Caesars Sports PA mobile app or use the desktop site, you’ll find odds for the following sports:
In addition to pre-event betting, Caesars Sports PA has a wealth of in-play options. Otherwise known as live bets, these markets allow you to speculate on various outcomes while an event is in progress.
Caesars’ live betting markets are available for all of its available sports. Furthermore, you can make singles, multiway, props and parlays with in-play betting.
The first port of call for every Keystone State sports bettor will be Caesars’ desktop site. Here, you’ll not only find a full list of sports, promotions and betting features but links to the mobile app. By following our registration link, you can get direct access with a single click.
Once you’re there, the choice is yours. Some of you will prefer the desktop site; others will choose the app. For most, it will be a combination of the two. Because Caesars uses omnichannel technology, you can create one account that works in either setting.
Basically, the universal wallet means any payments you make online also show up on the app and vice versa. The same goes for your betting history, active bets and bonus. Therefore, you can switch between settings and never miss a beat.
During our Caesars Sports PA review, the overall experience was great. The interface was clean, clear and easy to navigate. The desktop site resizes according to the dimensions of your browser. The app is optimized for Apple and Android devices.
In terms of the sportsbook’s layout, the page is split into three main parts: sports menu, odds and bet slip. Just as you’re reading these lines of text, Caesars’ page structure moves you from left to right. This dynamic mirrors the betting process:
This set-up is highly efficient and the ideal way to create a simple, direct betting experience.
Alongside a website that works on all devices, Caesars’ developers have created a mobile app. Available for Apple and Android devices, the app gives you easy access to 500+ casino games and a full range of sports betting options. In practice, this means you can speculate on sports such as football, soccer, basketball and baseball for as little at 1 cent.
If you own an Apple device, you can follow our sign-up link, click on the “mobile” link and download the iOS software. Android users will have to follow the on-site instructions and download option, too.
In general, the Caesars mobile app mirrors its desktop counterpart. However, one vital point to note is that the bet slip remains hidden until you need it. This is to save space on the screen. Moreover, you’ll need to swipe up and down, rather than left and right, to find the latest odds.
During our Caesars Sports PA review, the app performed well under normal conditions. Pages loaded swiftly, swiping back and forth was smooth and the app didn’t crash. However, to broaden our perspective, we looked at what other users have said about the app. One recurring issue was the software kicking people out of their accounts at random. This has created a related problem whereby players need to log in each time they closed and reopened the app.
In practice, this is a standard security protocol and one we endorse. However, we also understand that players like to log in and then multitask (i.e., do other things on their phone). The developers could strike a balance between security and instant accessibility by adding timeout rules. After a certain amount of inactivity, the software will recognize it as a risk and sign out the player.
We also saw feedback that indicated the iOS app was slow and not very user-friendly. We expect Caesar’s will be responsive to this sentiment and improve the app.
In terms of the features that impressed us during our review, the Caesars sportsbook app (and website) does a great job of allowing you to take control of your betting destiny.
Once you’ve done that, you can log in and take advantage of the following:
Caesars Sports is licensed and regulated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). For you, that means every financial transaction you make is protected.
Firstly, the site is secured by SSL encryption technology. Secondly, the Caesars sportsbook only works with reputable, regulated payment processors. Finally, all player funds are stored in secure bank accounts.
So, whenever you pay into, store or withdraw money from Caesars, you can be confident that your cash is safe at all times. Looking at the specifics, the minimum deposit and withdrawal amount at Caesars Sports PA is $10. In general, withdrawal requests will be processed within 48 hours, which means you’ll receive your money within three to five days.
The main payment options at Caesars Sports PA are:
When you need a helping hand, Caesars Sports has an FAQ section as well as a dedicated customer service team.
You can contact the agents 24/7 via email, live chat or phone.
Caesars Sports is one of the biggest names in gaming and, in recent years, it’s become a rising star in sports betting. Through its partnership with Harrah’s Casino, Caesars has found a way to offer legal bets on a variety of sports. In tandem with great odds, this app is slick, secure and packed with features.
In our opinion, the Caesars online sportsbook is ideal for bettors of all persuasions. For newbies, the generous welcome bonus is a perfect way to enhance your early experience on the app. For seasoned sports fans, the cash-out feature, the trending tab and the ability to make bets whenever you like are fantastic.
Overall, if you’re looking for a reputable brand that excels in all areas, Caesars Sports in Pennsylvania is it.
